A transom closer is a hydraulic overhead door closer which is concealed within the door frame. Transom closers are most commonly found in aluminium main entrance shop front doors. Choosing a transom closer involves the considersation of door weight and width, resistance to opening and closing force (a transom unit does not meed DDA requirements). Both 90 degree hold open (not to be used on fire doors) and non hold open options are available .
